Hyaho everyone!

Okay, now that Halloween has passed, it's time to start making plans for our possible Christmas party! Yay! Those people who've offered to help, post some ideas here! We want this to be a super fun event to fill the void in our hearts from our lack of Halloween dance! Osu! Some ideas I came up with are:

Christmas caroling anime style~ we sing Christmas songs from various anime
A dance~ duh...
Christmas cosplay~ wear a Christmas-themed cosplay! Like "Santa Alphonse", or something! It could be fun!
Gift exchange~ be it Secret Santa or Christmas greed, these are always fun!
Cookie decorating~ what's Christmas without cookies, right?

Okay, that's a few ideas! But, I can't be the only one working on this, ne? So, everyone help out!

These look great! Maybe we could do a combo, like go caroling while christmas cosplaying and end it with a dance where there are cookies and have a gift exchange there by assigning everyone a number and then drawing numbers and giving your gift tot he person that matches your number XD

I'm glad that you like the ideas! And yes, combining does sound interesting. We'll need to work out where the event will be, as well as who will be supplying things as well.

I tend to favor lower key things for christmas or other holiday parties, personal preference. I'm more in favor of perhaps a potluck with christmas-ey foods and... *ahem* drinks... *fantasizes about eggnog/blackstrap(tastes like coffee)... omg wassail* pleasant music in the bg and all that jazz... hopefully jazz :P
bleh, anyway, never been to a bad holiday potluck.

I too, am a fan of low-key holiday events, and food as well, so I support the idea of a potluck. I could try making my family's famous cherry-coke-salad (One of those weird dishes that was born out of hunger/boredom in the fifties). If people absolutely must come in costume or sing a few songs, that is their prerogative.
Also, since watching anime seems to be one of our primary functions, maybe we could also show a few vaguely holiday related movies. Or something. Really I'm just trying to find an excuse to watch Tokyo Godfathers again.

A potluck? Sounds okay, but we still need to decide where we're going to be!

Okay, everyone, I might have a place for the party! It's a building on campus that'll be free to use. We just need a date in order to make sure it's available. Preferably, sometime around mid-December. That sound okay? Let me know your thoughts SOON everyone, I need to make sure this will work.

Oh! And this should go without saying, but there can be no alcohol at this party, k? Not only because the place is owned by my church (and NO! I'm not trying to convert you all or any crap; it's 'cause it has a large room that we can get for free! D<) but also because this is a BSU club affiliated event: that would go against the school policy, and we could get in major trouble for that.

I don't know. I'm not an officer, I just seem to be the one planning this party. Okay, I'll see if that place I mentioned is available on the 12th in the evening.

Great news everyone! We have the room booked for the 12th from 6-10 pm. WARNINGS: No coffee, alcohol, or tea in this building please! Besides, it's a Christmas party; we should be drinking eggnog and cider and stuff. Okay, if we're doing a potluck, here's how things will work: A-K, bring side dishes; L-P bring a "main dish" like turkey or ham or something, Q-Z bring desserts! And anybody who wants can bring drinks that don't break the rules. For a gift exchange: maybe a Christmas Greed thing? Nothing that costs more than $10 at the most! Maybe even $5. Um, please bring your Christmas-y decorations, and anyone willing to help decorate would be appreciated! The building is on the corner of Joyce and University. I'll probably be there around 4:00-ish to start prep work and crap.

No coffee or tea... I smell mormons :P should be fun tho, the forums aren't really the place to recruit for these events though, there's far less traffic here then at the meetings... oh jeez and we're not meeting this week either. I'll try and see if can get some people interested then. yay recruiting.

Yeah, it's a Mormon building: but it's free to use, so no whining! And I haven't been able to come to meetings, so I have to use the forums.

This party is really important to me, because I'm moving out of state before the new semester starts. So I want it to happen no matter what. Please tell people to bring decorations and the food they're grouped under!
